How to learn any language with movies.

Well early or later time has come when you need to understand more while you are listening to movies, cartoon or news. I want to give an exmaple how you can improve your language learning with movies.

1.Choose your favourite movie or cartoon. ( I has taken "The Hobbit. Unexpected journey").

2. Download transcript and subtitles to this movie.

3.And now, while you are watching your favorite movie you should do the next:

  •    Watch movie without subtitles.
  •    Try to repeat each phrase
  •    Try to print each pharse repeated without taking a look at the subtitles.(Even if you don't know   what   word meaning  and you don't understand what people say.
  •     Every ten minutes ( or you can choose period of time by yourself) you should check what you have printed with original subtitles.
  •    Then you should write out new pharses. ( Do not try to remember separate word, always try to remember PHRASES!
Here is an example of the movie.

Lesson two:making affirmative sentence in German.

Die Worstellung.
Well any foreign language  consists of  three kind of sentences. They are affirmative, negative and interrogative.
While you are trying to get by heart any phrase, sentence you have to understand what kind of it and how it is made.Today we are going to talk about affirmative sentences in English and German languages.

 Enlgish language.

Word order is very important in German.because:

1.If the words are jumbled , it doesn't make sense.
2.It needs to make sense.
3.We need to be able to read it properly.
4.Otherwise people would get confused.
5.Otherwise people wouldn't understand you.
6.If you had a sentence like " With dogs like walking in the morning I" It wouldn't make sense.
7. And for sure we need it for communicating clearly.

Any affirmative sentence you can make according to the following pattern: SVOTMP.
Well, let's start from the beginning.

S- subject.
What is a subject?  The subject is the person, place, or thing that acts, is acted on, or is described in the sentence. There are three types of subjects:- simple subject (she, cat, it),complete subject (the black cat,the old house), compound subject (she and I, cat and dog).
V -verb or predicate
What is a predicate? The predicate usually follows the subject , tells what the subject does, has, or is, what is done to it, or where it is.It is the action or description that occurs in the sentence. There are three kinds of predicate:simple (stand, keep up), complete (lay on the beach, go to the cinema), compound (read na dlisten to music).

O-object.
What is a object? The object is a person or thing affected by the action described in the verb.Subject answers on the following questions: What? and To who?
There are two kinds of object:

  • Direct object: Refers to a person or thing affected by the action of the verb.
  • Indirect object: Refers to a person or thing who receives the direct object.
REMEMBER: Indirect Object stands before Direct Object till Direct Object becomes pronoun it will stand after Indirect Object.

Ich (S) gab (V) der Frau (IO) den Apfel (DO) – I gave the woman the apple
Er (S) gab (V) den Leuten (IO) Geld (DO) – He gave the people money

Ich gab es (DO) ihr (IO) – I gave it to her
Ich gab ihn (DO) ihr (IO)

Ich gab sie (DO) ihr (IO)

 T -Time

M - Adverbs of manner. It answers on the following question: How? (Wie?)

P - Place

The table below  show the position of the elements in a phrase of most of the German phrases.

  • Indirect object: Refers to a person or thing who receives the direct object.
Remember! If direct object stands before indirect than you should add "to". Give the book to me.
If direct object stands after indirect than you add nothing : Give me the book.

There are some words which use only the following pattern: S+V+direct O+indirect O+PT

I explain the situation to me (never: Explain me situation)
I introduce a girl to my friends (never: Introduce my friends the girl)
I propose the book to him (never:Propose him the book)
I repeat each word to them (never: Repeat them each word)
I say this to them ( never: Say them this)
I suggest it to her ( never: Suggest her it)
I describe the film to them ( never: Describe them the film)
I report it to her (never: Report her it)

Here are the first letters of all verbs:PRRIESD

P-Place.
T-Time

Remember!  You can put Time in the beginning of the sentence too like at the end.

There is another adjective word order which is importand too.
Sometimes you want to describe someone or something you need more than 2 adjectives.

Remember the word:

OPSHACOM (adjective order)
